Hobart’s football tradition remains a significant influence on its current players, according to head coach Eric Schreiber.
“We talk about it all the time,” Schreiber said. “We’ve got assistant coaches who played on those state championship teams. The kids are reminded of the program’s history almost every day.”
Hobart has secured four state titles, with a strong legacy established by past leaders. Schreiber emphasized that the program embraces its roots. “Our 100-year anniversary is coming up,” he said. “In 1927, Hobart football began as the Yellow Jackets. It’s part of our story.”
The program’s motto—pride, hustle, desire—connects generations, Schreiber said. “It’s something we talk about a lot,” he said. “We want to get back to that level of consistency.”
Senior Max Pickett shared that the legacy serves as motivation for him and his teammates. “At Hobart, the expectation is always to win,” Pickett said. “We want to leave our legacy and be remembered.”
