Hobart defeated Kankakee Valley 3–1 in a conference boys volleyball match.
The conference battle played out on May 6 at Hobart High School, where the Brickies protected their home floor.
Hobart dropped the opening set 25–21 but stormed back with a dominant 25–13 second set and controlled the final two frames behind a balanced, high‑volume attack. Joel Mock powered the Brickies with 17 kills on 41 swings, while Codi Ketchum added seven kills and three total blocks to steady the front line. Christian Haymon chipped in six kills, and freshman Miles White delivered three more in limited action. Setter David Camacho orchestrated the offense with 15 assists, helping Hobart finish with 38 kills as a team.
Kankakee Valley hung close early behind Jase Barrera’s 10 kills and Mason Dase’s nine, but the Kougars struggled to maintain rhythm as Hobart’s block and serve pressure tightened. KV totaled 41 digs, led by Conor Stabnik’s 10, yet the Brickies’ sustained attacking eventually wore them down.
Hobart’s defensive effort also proved decisive, with Mock posting 13 digs and Ketchum adding eight as the Brickies controlled long rallies and limited KV’s clean swings.
