Hobart High School’s football team is aiming for another successful season, four years after securing a state championship. The team is under the guidance of second-year head coach Eric Schreiber.
According to Schreiber, preparations began immediately following the conclusion of last season. “We started our weight program in November,” he said. “The boys are hungry and ready. We’re excited for what this group can do.” The team boasts a strong core of returning starters alongside new players eager to contribute. “We’ve got leadership from our seniors and juniors who played last year,” Schreiber said. “We’re farther ahead than we were last summer.”
Senior leaders Logan Peters and Max Pickett have clear objectives for the upcoming season. Peters emphasized their desire to make a lasting impact: “We want to win and leave our legacy,” he said. “We don’t want to be forgotten.” Pickett highlighted the program’s enduring reputation, stating, “At Hobart, the expectation is always to win. That’s what we’re working for.”
