Hobart head coach Eric Schreiber emphasizes that the next step for his program is not about schematics but discipline.
According to Schreiber, “It’s just about doing the little things better. We want to be more disciplined with how we execute plays, be perfect in everything we do, and be better this year than last year.” He further states that the team has progressed across all three phases: “We’re much farther ahead this summer than we were last summer. The growth we’ve seen offensively, defensively and in special teams is huge.”
For defensive end Logan Peters, discipline involves adhering to fundamentals while engaging in his favorite aspect of the game. Peters says, “I like rushing the passer. That’s probably the most fun part of playing the edge. My favorite move is my double play.”
Running back Max Pickett believes discipline means embracing his playing style. Pickett says, “I think I’m best at going downhill, running at someone. I can juke if I need to, but I prefer to put my shoulder down.”
Schreiber underscores that offseason improvements must manifest during games: “It’s going to be crucial on Friday nights,” he said. “That’s when discipline really shows.”
