Hobart advanced in postseason play with a hard‑fought 7–5 win over Portage, using a late offensive surge and steady relief pitching to secure the victory.

After falling behind 2–0 in the second inning, the Brickies answered with a run in the bottom half and stayed within striking distance until their breakthrough fifth inning. Trailing 3–1, Hobart erupted for four runs in the fifth, turning the game around behind timely hitting from the middle of the order. The Brickies added two more in the sixth to create the needed separation before holding off a late Portage push.

Hobart’s game was highlighted by standout performances from Celedonio Pimentel, who went 3‑for‑4, and Zach Terek, who added two hits and scored a run. Connor Kenjic also delivered a strong day at the plate, going 2‑for‑5 with two runs scored. Ryder Yates and Brandon Stafford each drove in a run, while Michael Klaich contributed a key RBI single in his lone at‑bat.

On the mound, Hobart relied on a combination of arms. Zach Terek worked 3.2 innings, striking out two, while Gabe Gutierrez delivered a crucial three‑inning relief appearance, allowing no runs and striking out four to close the door.

The balanced effort lifted Hobart to a well‑earned postseason win.
