Hobart boys basketball beat Highland 60-44 in a Northwest Crossroads Conference game, showing defensive toughness and balanced scoring.
The matchup was played Friday, Feb. 20, at Hobart High School.
The Hobart Boys Basketball team established the rhythm for their game versus Highland from the outset. After narrowly winning the first quarter 15-11, the Hobart team improved upon their lead in the second quarter via an offensive explosion (17-4) and gradually expanded that lead during the remainder of the contest. The Brickies continued their impressive offensive and defensive play in the third quarter, outscoring Highland 14 to 12 (equal to what they did in the third). The Brickies finished the game off with 14 points in the fourth quarter and although Highland added 17 points in that quarter, they could not make up the deficit that was created earlier in the game.
Hobart enters the postseason with a neutral-site playoff clash against Valparaiso on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 6 p.m. as part of the IHSAA Class 4A Boys Basketball State Tournament, Sectional 2 at Chesterton.
The Brickies will look to extend their run against a familiar rival, drawing confidence from their Feb. 10 meeting, when they protected home court with a 65-54 non-conference victory.
