Hobart earned a 66–41 victory over Morgan Township in a varsity boys basketball nonconference matchup.

The game took place Jan. 3, 2026, at Hobart High School.

Hobart set the tone early and maintained control throughout the contest, using balanced scoring and steady defensive pressure to build separation. The Brickies consistently won possessions on the glass and capitalized on free-throw opportunities, preventing Morgan Township from generating sustained momentum. Hobart continued to extend the margin through the middle quarters before closing the game out efficiently in the fourth.

Erik Kingery led Hobart with a team-high 18 points, shooting efficiently and contributing on both ends of the floor. Ryan Basham followed with 15 points, repeatedly attacking the paint and drawing contact. Stephen Miller added six points while providing energy in transition, and Paxson Hicko chipped in seven points with steady guard play. Miles White scored five points and was active on the boards, while Jordan Johnson and Jeffery Long each added scoring support. Hobart’s depth allowed for consistent production as the Brickies rotated multiple players throughout the game.

Hobart will return to action Jan. 16 when it hosts Hanover Central in a 7 p.m. conference matchup.

The last meeting between Hobart and Hanover Central came Jan. 17, when Hobart dropped a 64–44 decision on the road.
