The Hobart boys soccer team opened its 2025 campaign Wednesday against the Munster Mustangs, and while the final score favored Munster 6‑2, the Brickies showed flashes of offensive promise and determination on their home pitch. The result extended a streak of narrow losses to Munster, marking Hobart’s third consecutive defeat in the series, but the effort on display highlighted the team’s resilience.
Lincoln Miller and Spencer Provins scored Hobart’s two goals, each recording their first of the season. Their strikes demonstrated the team’s ability to find the net against a talented opponent, and the Brickies created additional scoring opportunities that tested Munster’s defense. Defensively, Hobart battled throughout, limiting some of Munster’s chances and showing organization that will serve as a foundation for future contests.
Looking ahead, Hobart returns to the pitch Saturday at 12:00 p.m. to face Illiana Christian. The team hopes to defend its home turf and turn lessons from the opener into a confident performance. While Munster continues its quest for a strong home showing against Penn, Hobart remains focused on building cohesion, sharpening its attack, and demonstrating that early-season setbacks will not define the Brickies’ 2025 campaign.
