Hobart’s boys basketball team dropped a 63‑47 home non‑conference game to Griffith, unable to close the gap after halftime.
The matchup was played Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Hobart, where the Brickies struggled to match Griffith’s pace in front of their home crowd.
They struggled to keep pace as Griffith steadily built a double-digit lead on the way to a 16-point victory. The Brickies were held to 47 points, below their season scoring average, while Griffith leaned on balanced scoring and consistent offensive execution. The loss dropped Hobart to 11-8 overall.
Hobart heads into the postseason with a neutral playoff showdown against Valparaiso on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 6 p.m. The game is part of the 2025‑26 IHSAA Class 4A Boys Basketball State Tournament, Sectional 2 at Chesterton, and the Brickies will look to extend their run against a familiar rival.
The last meeting between these teams came on Feb. 10, when Hobart defended its home court with a 65‑54 non‑conference win over Valparaiso. That victory gives Hobart confidence heading into Friday’s matchup, where the stakes are higher and the spotlight brighter.
