Hobart girls basketball team faced a defeat in a non-conference game against Chesterton.
The match took place on December 23 at Chesterton High School in Chesterton, Indiana. According to reports, Chesterton established control early, opening the game with a strong first quarter and extending their lead through the first three periods. Hobart worked to stay competitive offensively, scoring in each quarter, but Chesterton’s pace and depth allowed them to maintain separation throughout the night. Hobart continued to compete defensively while rotating through its lineup against one of the area’s top non-conference opponents.
Kurah Krucina led Hobart offensively as the team’s top scorer, while Riley Weber anchored the Brickies on the glass. Aalliah Otero contributed as a facilitator and defensive presence, helping Hobart generate possessions and pressure the ball. Despite the result, Hobart gained experience against a Chesterton team that entered the matchup with one of the stronger records in the region.
Hobart is set to return to action on January 9 when they will travel to Highland for a 7 p.m. conference game. The two teams last met on January 10, when Hobart lost 50–41 to Highland.
