0Comments

The Hobart girls basketball team earned a 69-31 victory over Hebron in a nonconference matchup.

The game was played Jan. 13 at Hobart High School, as the Brickies improved to 7-9 on the season while continuing to build momentum on their home floor.

Hobart controlled the game on both ends, led by Kurah Krucina, who entered the contest averaging 12.6 points per game and provided scoring and rim protection in the paint. Riley Weber, the team’s leading rebounder at 10.8 per game, helped the Brickies dominate the glass and limit second-chance opportunities. Aalliah Otero set the tone defensively, using her pressure to create turnovers and spark transition chances, while also contributing as the team’s assist and steals leader. Hobart steadily increased its scoring output across each quarter, pulling away in the second half with balanced offense and consistent defensive stops.

The Brickies also held an edge in rebounds, assists and blocks, using depth and ball movement to generate quality looks and keep Hebron from finding an offensive rhythm.

Up next, Hobart hosts Hanover Central on Jan. 22 in a Northwest Crossroads Conference matchup scheduled for 7 p.m.

The two teams last met Jan. 23, when Hanover Central defeated Hobart 60-28.
