The Hobart Brickies boys’ soccer team concluded the 2025 season with a record of 9-8-2, marking a period characterized by consistent improvement, challenging competition, and strong performances towards the end of the season.
The Brickies began their campaign against Munster and Illiana Christian, encountering early challenges that contributed to their resilience. Following a difficult start, Hobart found its stride with victories such as a 1-0 win at Morgan Township and another 1-0 shutout over Portage.
Throughout the fall, conference play posed significant tests for the Brickies. However, they secured crucial wins against Andrean and Kankakee Valley, while managing to keep several top opponents within close margins.
In October, the Brickies reached their peak performance by winning four out of their last five matches leading into sectionals. They achieved postseason victories against Kankakee Valley and Valparaiso, advancing confidently before being defeated 5-1 by Crown Point in the Class 3A Sectional at Kankakee Valley.
Over the course of the season, Hobart outscored opponents 39-38, demonstrating balanced production between defense and attack. Their ability to adapt, compete effectively, and maintain organization against high-caliber programs highlighted the team’s development from beginning to end.
