Hobart softball closed the regular season in style Wednesday evening, powering past Highland 11–4 in a conference matchup at the Hobart Softball Complex.
The Brickies exploded out of the gate, scoring four runs in the first, two in the second, and two more in the third to build an 8–0 lead before Highland finally broke through in the fifth. Hobart finished with 11 runs on six hits, capitalizing on pressure, baserunners, and timely swings to control the game from the opening pitch.
Junior Alexis Turley delivered another strong performance, going 2‑for‑4 with two runs and an RBI, while junior Addi Gaffin added two runs and an RBI to fuel the early surge. Seniors Samantha Stankich and Rylee Geib each drove in a run as the Brickies’ lineup kept Highland on its heels throughout the night.
In the circle, Hobart’s pitching was dominant. Senior Allie Snider opened with a clean first inning, and junior Aurora Ciesielski handled the final six frames. Together, the duo combined for five strikeouts and zero earned runs, allowing just three hits across seven innings.
With the 11–4 victory, the Brickies closed out their regular season with authority and momentum heading into postseason play.
