The Hobart varsity volleyball team secured a decisive victory over Highland, winning 3-0 in a home conference match held on October 2, 2025, at Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana.
The Brickies demonstrated strong performance with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, and 25-20. Junior Alissa Hope led the offensive efforts with 12 kills on a .375 hitting percentage. Senior Kalli Butcher contributed with two kills and 20 assists. Sophomore Bella Cawthon and senior Lena Raygoza each added five kills, helping Hobart achieve a total of 35 team kills and an overall hitting percentage of .178.
Defensively, seniors Riley Weber and Kalli Butcher each recorded 14 digs. Junior Maddie Lams contributed an additional 13 digs. The team also excelled in serving, achieving ten aces on 73 attempts with a success rate of 97.3%. Junior Ira Hicko and Hope each scored three aces.
Highland put up a strong fight in each set. Senior Hannah Ladewski recorded five kills while junior Selena Govea added four. Despite their loss, the Trojans showed progress in serve-receive and rally consistency.
Hobart is scheduled to travel to face Kankakee Valley on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
