Hobart junior Nora Hornak enters the softball season as a key leader for the Brickies following last year’s sectional championship appearance.
Hornak said the team has taken a noticeable step forward in preparation during the offseason.
“I feel like the first year he was a coach, he came in really strong, but it was kind of more laid back,” Hornak said. “But this year coming up, I feel like we’ve really practiced super hard, and we’ve been training way harder than we have been.”
A returning starter, Hornak is part of a strong junior core expected to lead Hobart on both sides of the field.
“She’ll be a three-year starter going into this year,” coach Josh Coons said. “Getting those type of people into the program…setting examples for others is really the way that we’re going to move forward.”
Hornak’s leadership and experience will be key as Hobart navigates a demanding schedule and looks to build on last season’s run.With increased intensity and a focus on growth, the Brickies aim to take the next step this spring.
