Jordan Johnson scored 24 points to lead Hobart to an 87-43 victory over Whiting in a non-conference matchup.
The game was played Feb. 24 at Whiting High School, where Hobart pulled away after a close opening quarter.
The Brickies held a narrow 13-12 lead after the first quarter before taking control in the second. Hobart outscored Whiting 28-6 in the period to build a 41-18 halftime advantage. The Brickies continued to extend the lead in the third quarter with a 27-16 run and carried a commanding 68-34 lead into the final period. Hobart added 19 more points in the fourth to secure the decisive win.
Johnson led all scorers with 24 points, knocking down five 3-pointers while finishing a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. Paxson Hicko added 14 points, while Erik Kingery and Ryan Basham each contributed 12. Klarc Taylor finished with six points and freshman Dorian Key added five as Hobart spread scoring across the lineup.
Hobart’s strong second and third quarters created separation early, allowing the Brickies to control the pace and secure the road victory.
