Hobart girls basketball earned a 42–27 home non-conference victory over Hammond Central girls basketball.
The game was played Jan. 30 at Hobart High School in Hobart, Indiana.
Hobart set the tone defensively from the opening tip, limiting Hammond Central’s scoring chances and controlling the pace of play. The Brickies built separation by winning the rebounding battle and forcing turnovers, turning defensive stops into efficient offensive possessions. Hammond Central worked to stay within reach early, but Hobart’s consistent pressure kept the visitors from finding rhythm.
The Brickies continued to extend the lead after halftime, holding Hammond Central in check across the final two quarters. Hobart’s ability to close possessions on the defensive end and capitalize at the free-throw line proved decisive as the margin grew late.
Junior Kurah Krucina led Hobart with 14 points, providing steady scoring and activity on both ends of the floor. Senior Zaria Gildon added 12 points and contributed defensively, while senior Riley Weber and senior Aalliah Otero helped anchor the interior with rebounding and physical play.
The victory marked another strong home performance for the Brickies as they continued to build momentum.
