Hobart delivered a dominant performance at regionals, placing multiple wrestlers on the podium and piling up points across the lineup.
The event took place Feb. 7 at Hobart High School, where the Brickies competed against a deep field of programs in the IHSAA Boys Regional (A2).
Hobart was led by a strong group of individual champions, highlighted by Jacoby Moore at 138 pounds, Hayden Mancilla at 165, Aiden Granger at 175, Aleksandar Tatum at 190, and Josh Diaz at 285. Each wrestler captured first place in their respective weight classes, providing a significant scoring boost and setting the tone for Hobart throughout the day.
Moore went 3-0 with multiple bonus-point wins, controlling his matches from start to finish. Mancilla matched that pace with three convincing victories, including pins in the semifinals and finals. Diaz capped the heavyweight bracket with three straight falls, closing out a dominant showing.
Preston Perez added a second-place finish at 215 pounds, while Hobart also received contributions throughout the lineup that helped maintain momentum across the tournament. By the end of the day, the Brickies totaled 128.5 team points, reflecting depth, efficiency, and consistent execution across weight classes as they advanced multiple wrestlers through the bracket.
