Eric Schreiber, the head coach of Hobart, has incorporated coaching into his life for many years. He now shares this professional journey with his father, who is part of his coaching staff.
“When I was young, I always wanted to be a football coach,” Schreiber said. “We used to play coach at home, and I’d joke with him that he’d be my assistant someday. And now it’s real.”
According to Schreiber, having his father on staff is invaluable. “On game day, he’s always right there when I need him,” he said. “He’s not afraid to share his advice, and I want him to. We bounce ideas off each other, and it keeps us on the same page.”
The pair previously coached together at Hammond Clark and Homewood-Flossmoor. Schreiber said that their relationship strengthens Hobart’s team dynamics. “He’s got a ton of experience, and he’s been a great asset,” he added.
