Hobart secured a 29-18 victory over Hammond Morton in nonconference play on Friday night, improving their season record to 6-2. The game was marked by a standout performance from junior quarterback Aleks Tatum.
The match took place on October 10 at Hobart High School. The Brickies established an early lead and managed to fend off the Governors’ second-half efforts. Hobart quickly gained momentum, scoring 20 unanswered points by halftime and maintaining control through a balanced offensive strategy.
Tatum delivered an impressive performance both in passing and rushing. He completed 9 of 12 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns while also contributing 114 rushing yards and two additional scores on the ground. Junior receiver Bryce Tolliver made five receptions for 75 yards, while N. Sobczynski added 38 receiving yards alongside key defensive contributions. On defense, the Brickies recorded four sacks — one each from Peters, Earvin, Jones, and Perez — effectively disrupting Morton’s rhythm.
The victory enhances Hobart’s overall record to 6-2 as they continue their strong push towards the postseason. Meanwhile, Morton remains winless with a record of 0-8. The Brickies aim to maintain their momentum in next week’s matchup.
